March 2026

A proud milestone

Entrepreneur of the Month, PRIME Meghalaya

In March 2026, just months after Meghyra launched, our co-founder Dr Nandita Lyngdoh was named Entrepreneur of the Month by PRIME Meghalaya.

PRIME (Promotion and Incubation of Market-driven Enterprises) is the Government of Meghalaya’s flagship entrepreneurship programme. Since 2020 it has helped founders across the state grow with incubation, mentoring, funding and access to markets beyond Meghalaya.

The award recognised the journey behind Meghyra: a doctor and a naval officer starting from scratch, with no business background and no investors. It meant long trips to remote villages to sit with farmers, a doctor's standards for quality and safety, and gift boxes delivered on time, same day. It came with a Certificate of Achievement and a grant of ₹50,000.

This honour belongs just as much to the beekeepers and farmers whose honey and spices fill every jar. Khublei, PRIME Meghalaya, for believing in us so early.

2026

significant milestone in Meghyra's journey

Backed by IIMA Ventures × SAP: Northeast Growth Lab

Meghyra was selected for the Northeast Growth Lab (NEGL), a programme by IIMA Ventures, the startup incubator at IIM Ahmedabad, in partnership with SAP. The 2026 cohort is just 25 startups from across the eight northeastern states.

From that cohort, Meghyra was one of the top 12 startups awarded a grant to scale.

IIMA Ventures has backed companies like Razorpay and ideaForge. Now it's backing Meghyra's mission: premium, traceable products from Meghalaya, built for the world.

October 2026

proud international milestone

Meghyra Goes Global: MoU with Kendor Textiles, Canada

At the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet 2026, organised by the Government of Meghalaya, Meghyra signed an MoU with Kendor Textiles Limited, Canada, to bring our handwoven Eri silk to international markets.

Eri silk is known as "peace silk", a natural fabric made without harming the silkworm. Meghyra's pieces are handwoven by skilled artisans and finished to a premium standard. That quality, rooted in tradition and ready for the world, is what international buyers recognised in Meghyra.

Behind every thread are our 30+ farmers, artisans and weavers, and this partnership takes their craft, and Meghalaya's heritage, beyond borders.
